Abdi Wiyono

The film tells the Cinderella, or Putri Abu (Indonesian equivalent) story that was made popular by a Walt Disney cartoon. It is about a girl who has to live with her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. A prince finally marries her thanks to a glass shoe that she accidentally leaves during a party.

This movie is a collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. This movie is show to the public in 1987 and directed by Abdi Wiyono and Ahmad Ibrahim. This film won an award for Special Jury Award in 7th Malaysia Film Festival in 1987.

The story is around Dewi that have problem with his boyfriend Micky. She meet a shy Doctor name Imran that treat her when she involve in an accident but Micky still try to stir problem with her.

Badrowi disturbs a married woman he's in love with on her wedding night and kills her husband. He's then severely beaten by villagers and his body is thrown into a ravine. There, he gains supernatural powers from a spider and then starts terrorizing the village.

Disappointed after seeing his homeland, Pasai, destroyed by the Portuguese, Fadhilah Khan, later known as Fatahillah or Fala Tehan, completes his education in the Holy Land, then joins Sultan Trenggono who rules the Sultanate of Demak. He gains a respectable position as a cleric, then marries the sister of the Emperor, Ratu Pembayun, and Ratu Ayu, the widow of Pati Unus, who died in the battle against the Portuguese in Malacca. The Portuguese want to establish a fort at Sunda Kelapa. But the Sultanate of Demak is determined to wage a war against the Portuguese. Fatahillah is elected as the commanding officer, and he conquers Sunda Kelapa, and changes its name to Jayakarta, which later became Jakarta.

Mat Peci is a cold-blooded killer. He was forced to break up with his girlfriend, who was pregnant because his parents rejected him. He continued to find ways to meet the girl and was finally arrested because the police continued to follow his trail.

Euis, a beautiful village flower girl, was forced to follow Mang Emon and his wife Jujuk, illegally to Muangthai. When they arrived there, Euis and the other girls were only used as entertainers. They were powerless to fight Mang Emon and his cruel thugs. Euis' desire to escape was still burning. She started saving as provisions. Euis then got acquainted with Ario, a Javanese young man who worked there. The two fell in love. Ario intended to help Euis get out of the valley of hell. At one point Euis' savings had been collected, but were stolen by Mang Emon's men. After Mang Emon's death, Jujuk intended to sell his brothel. The sale of the brothel became a fight among them. This commotion was an opportunity for Ario to arrange an escape. Finally they managed to escape, returned to Indonesia and then they set up a convection business.

Nick and Arini finally marry despite their big age difference that leads to conflicts. Nick and Arini try to cope, and even decide to see a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, Ella, Arini’s child from Helmy, has a problem after a kidney transplant. She needs a new kidney. Her stepmother, Ira, offers to be the donor, with financial help from Arini. The operation is done in Germany. Upon returning home, Arini finds an upset Nick, who is jealous about a picture of Arini and Helmy together. In fact, Nick’s mother, who has always disapproved of his marriage, funded Helmy’s trip to Germany to set up the situation. Nick suspects that Arini is pregnant and refuses to go home. In frustration, he brings home a prostitute to his mother’s house. Then his mother goes to Arini’s house and finds out that Arini is struggling to give birth. She is then taken to the hospital and has a Caesarean. Meanwhile, Nick finds out the truth of the whole incident and goes to the hospital to apologise. The marriage survives.
