Narasimha is a man on the run with his one-year-old son. He reaches Kumbakonam and stays at the house of the village temple's dharma karta's house. But while there, he bumps into Gowri who seems to dislike him for some reason, despite being his childhood friend. A death row inmate Rami Reddy also seems to hold a grudge against Narasimha. Who is Narasimha and what did he do to make so many enemies?

A valiant and a righteous cop Dilsher Sikhon (Parmish Verma) joins as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in his own village Singham Khurd to rehabilitate the drug engulfed youth of Punjab. Destiny sets him against corrupt Bhuller (Kartar Cheema) a powerful businessman, sand mafia and an aspiring politician. Bhuller challenges Dilsher Sikhon’s ethics and beliefs but with support of his love and faith in his values- Singham gets back with a louder roar.

Sikander is a story of contemporary Punjabi youth. The Punjabi youth is being dubbed as drug addict, turbulent and quarrelsome. This film is an insider’s narrative, representing the corrupt practices and cruel politics in educational institutions which degrade these institutions. It is also making poisonous impact on the society as a whole. Living in this vicious atmosphere the characters of this film are not aloof of its evils. They are part and parcel of the ambience around. The youth is advancing to indulge in organized crime. The political structures as well as socioeconomic conditions are responsible for such violent degeneration. Despite the dominantare drug addicts, turbulent and quarrelsome but they understand life very well. Rather they are very close to life.

The movie mainly revolves around four characters with the protagonist being farmer Jeet Brar, who is also a `kisaan` leader. The four youngsters get involved with a corrupt politician Sardar Harmail Singh and get involved in crime and violence. They have no goals of their own. There is a love tringle introduced with two of the men and Neeru, the daughter of an NRI, who is forbidden from meeting the group by her father. A virtuous journalist called Sarabjit is on Harmail Singh`s trail, as he wants to expose the truth to the people of the state. What happens when he persists? Will love beat crime?

This is the story of a mother and her missing son set in the backdrop of 1984 Punjab, when the state was going through a terrible time of terrorism. The film depicts the longing of a mother for her son and her search for her son, who is labelled a terrorist because of the bad times in Punjab.
