Southern seaside town. High school students Olya and Mitya met at sports classes, made friends. However, rumors spread around the school about the cohabitation of two students, and hints were made about the intimacy of their relationship. As a result, young people quarrel. But real friends and family of Mitya are trying to help the lovers sort out their feelings.

Six years later, the peaceful lives of characters, with their joys and misfortunes, quarrels and reconciliations, and complex personal relationships, are blown up by a war that connects everyone at once, forcing them to see the meaning of their days, their attitudes to each other and their life values in a different way. For some of them, war is a fatal trait.

The young weaver Nadezhda was encouraged in every possible way at the factory: she was awarded a trip to Italy, given a new apartment, nominated as a candidate for deputy of the Supreme Council, while the factory administration turned a blind eye to the fact that some of her products were defective.

Her dedication to work scares Sergei, he even wants to persuade her to leave the farm, but understands that Anna will never be happy without her work, and he – without it.

The film is based on real events that took place in Moscow in the early 1980s. A KGB officer in plain clothes returning late at night is detained by a police patrol at the Zhdanovskaya metro station. The officer, who began to actively protest against the arbitrariness, was taken to the police duty room and severely injured. After that, the police officers decided to finish off their victim and take the body away and dump it outside the city. The investigation is entrusted to Gleb Yarin, an investigator with the USSR Prosecutor's Office. Soon he finds himself involved in a confrontation between two irreconcilable rivals — the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The senior police leadership is determined to cover up the scandal between the security agencies by any means necessary.

Also on the construction site arrives a group of girls from the village. The youth collective is fused, sympathy and love are born...

After a failed marriage, Sasha Vasiliev leaves his wife and takes a job as a gamekeeper in a nature reserve. Before long, he comes into conflict with a powerful and wealthy politician who wants to buy a stretch of riverbank within the reserve for personal use. All Sasha has to do is sign a single document, and everything would stay quiet and peaceful — but he refuses.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".
