Finally, Lia gets hold of the letter despite the honest man's objections but the General, decides to hire him due to his honesty. There, he discovers the embezzlements and when he tells everything to the General, his wife and her brother try to prove that he is crazy, a crook, a communist and anti-systemic, things that usually make the General furious. The honest man is imprisoned but in the end Lia decides to come forth with the truth.

Petros (Georgos Kambanellis), son of the factory owner Tsamis (Lavrentis Dianellos), is in love with his father's worker Martha (Martha Vourtsi). However, before they can get married, Tsamis' intrigues and scheming lead the relationship to a shipwreck and Petros marries the rich woman approved by his family. Ultimately, however, Tsamis regrets his attitude. Thus, the young couple unite their destinies and live happily ever after.

The film is based on real events and tells the story of a group of Greeks who successfully escape from the Boules camp and return to Greece. Boules was a town that took in Greek refugees from the Civil War of 1945-1949. The escape took place because the exiled leaders of the illegal Communist Party of Greece began to exterminate their former comrades who did not share the views of the clique of the party's new secretary general, Nikos Zachariadis.
