At a usual Sunday lunch with his parents, son Ivan, a seemingly calm and composed man in his mid-thirties, in a sudden burst of emotions, causes a scene and opens up showing his vulnerability and almost childlike need for his parents’ attention and support.

A journalist finally gets her first big break after she gets assigned to write a story on Roko, a young man whose been recieving death threats from the representatives of the local organized crime syndicates after his brother falls in major debt with them. She publishes the story, but this only increases the threats, leading to a harrowing tragedy.

"Long Dark Night" follows the life of the fictional character Iva Kolar: his experiences as a Croatian University student, his role as a Partisan fighting Hitler's troops during W.W. II, his involvement in his nation's post-war government, and his eventual downfall.

The Prišt brothers are at a crossroads, preparing for their acting studies. Krešo, the older brother, has a hump and too much confidence. The lonely obese girl is so desperate for a friend and for a lover that she will end up seeking both in the pig-sty. The miser peasant will find out that the real misery is in loneliness.
