Toby is a teenager who doesn't care much about school. In fact, he has his eyes on the title of a prestigious dog-sleigh race. He will have to undergo extensive training in order to win it.

When Father Joseph Hennessey visits the home of one of his parishioners to offer last rights,he becomes embroiled in a plot which ultimately shakes his faith to its very foundation. Intrigued by the dying man's mention of "Nim," and fascinated by the man's saintly demeanor, Father Joseph's curiosity is redoubled when a beautiful young woman enters his church to question the young priest about the deceased man. Father Joseph and the woman, whom he discovers to be the "Nim" in question, embark upon an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Tony Washington is killed in a hit-and-run after saving the local bodega clerk from robbers. Molly Mokembe is a Haitian voodou practitioner who brings him back as a zombi from a debt owed by Tony's late dad in an act of sacrifice that saved her. Jimbo, the kid that iced Tony, is embracing some new sadistic feelings. What follows is a revenge that can only be sated once all of those who were with Jimbo that night have had their due.
