February 15th 2013. A meteor has burned its way through the atmosphere over the Ural region in Russia, its dazzling light brighter than the sun. In Kabelvåg, a small town in the north of Norway, the three close friends Ruby, Sebastian and Daniel celebrate their graduation. They have made plans for a future together, but much like the meteor, their destination and journey remains unclear.

The film is about the special phenomenon where convicted murderers receive love letters from strangers. Those who write these letters have never met the inmates. And the disturbing fact about this phenomenon is that the women who write don't know anything about the prisoner, other than what they are sentenced for.
