Chan sisters Chan Meiling and Chan Meiyu are respected high class, women in Hong Kong's more upscale neighborhoods. Even with their antihero status, the Black Rose has created uneasiness and tension in the high society; therefore, an insurance detective investigates the crimes and tries to unmask the woman behind the cat mask.

Two of a Kind is a Hong Kong Romance-Comedy starring Tony Leung Chiu-Wai

Set during a period of depression, the film chronicles the daily lives of a single urban building split up into several separate units, and the actual people that dwell within.

Revolutionary youth Xie Jian Ming is killed by corrupt officials near the lighthouse, leading to rumors of his ghost haunting the town. Ming’s fiancée, He Mingzhu, hides his death from his mother. When Ming’s “ghost” appears, Zhu vows to marry him, holding a midnight wedding to fulfill his mother’s wish. Suspecting Ming is alive, the Police Chief arrests Zhu and Ming’s mother. Ming’s friend, Law Sagull, rescues Zhu, convincing her to join the underground movement. They disguise themselves to help Ming’s mother escape, but Ming fails to free her. Later, Ming appears at a celebration to perform, as the underground group surrounds the officials. Ming confronts and kills the Police Chief, revealing he survived and that another comrade was tortured in his place. Reunited, Ming and Zhu join the revolutionary cause.

Louie (Leslie Cheung), a spoiled pop star, has a one-night stand with beautiful dancer, Anita (Anita Mui). When Anita tells Louie that she dreamed of becoming a singer, he brings her to the stage and becomes a star. Anita has fallen in love with Louie, but Louie loves Julia (Joey Wong). However, Louie later finds out that Julia is dating his father, Kent (Paul Chu). Louie then leaves Hong Kong and heads to Paris leaving his career behind. Then he meets, Yuan Yu-shih (Cecilia Yip), a Vietnamese refugee that suffers from a war wound. In Paris, Louie lives his new life happily as a dishwasher with his new lover. However, his past life starts to come back when Anita comes to pay a visit.

Rich heir Tommy Wu has a circle of friends at university: Chow Hoi-kit and Kong Fan who both come from a poor background, Wong Ying whom Chow secretly admires, and Mary who goes out with Kong over the protests of her rich father. Tommy hangs out with the gangster Ah Kam, gambling and dancing days and nights away.

Ah-gau (Keung Chung-ping) leaves his wife Sou Jing, and son in Macau for Nanyang to join his cousin (Patrick Tse Yin) in search of employment. A series of events propel Ah-gau into high society and he falls in love with a tycoon’s daughter, Ming-zyu, (Patsy Kar Ling). Abandoned by Ah-gau, Sou Jing suffers in utter poverty and journeys to Singapore in search of her husband.

Chor Yuen started his directorial career with a bang. From its very first image, The Natural Son establishes Chor as a filmmaker of stylistic flourish, which would be sustained in various forms throughout his long tenure. Adapted from '30 cents' pulp fiction, it is a Kong Ngee melodrama made in the studio's mould, with Westernised characters and trendy middle-class lifestyles. Yet, Chor's first film is not exempt from the social urgency that characterises the Cantonese cinema of his father, Cheung Wood-yau. The film cloaks its entertainment in a moral deliberation on blood ties, its story about the raising of a bastard child a head-on challenge of archaic family values. An ostentatious start for a colourful and eventful career.

Hong Kong crime movie from 1978

The creative person torn between ideals and reality is one of Chor Yuen's favourite characters in his 1960s films. Another favourite subject is the rose, not only featured in the title of several films but is also the name of the production company he formed with his future wife, Nam Hung, who also stars in most of its productions. Rose in Tears is in fact the company's inaugural project. The story features two painters, one famous and the other struggling but both infatuated with the same delicate rose of a woman, negotiating their ways through art, commerce and love. With this heart-tugging story, Chor finds a vehicle for his baroque impulses, relishing in lavish images and over-the-top emotions.

Young shoeshine boy Shing is a mischievous yet kind-hearted child. When he notices that his neighbour, the unemployed Fung, is struggling to make ends meet with a pregnant wife about to give birth, he secretly delivers food to help them. Out of desperation, Fung takes a risk and attempts to steal from their neighbour, dancer Lily, only to stumble upon a crime scene—Lily has just been murdered by the ruthless villain Robert. Fung immediately becomes the primary suspect of the case. Having witnessed everything, Shing reports the truth to the police inspector, but is ignored due to his reputation for lying. Fung flees to the outskirts of the city, where Shing continues to provide him with food in secret. Wracked by guilt and fear, Robert, seeks to silence both Shing and Fung for good, but fortunately, Shing’s quick thinking allows them to escape. His actions raise suspicion from the inspector, leading to a tense battle of wits and strength between Shing, Fung, Robert, and the police.

Orphan Lee Dan-hung is made a scapegoat by her cousin Chor Kwai-ping. Facing drug trafficking charges, Lee is released on parole with the doctor To King-chung as guarantor. Lee works as a sanatorium nurse. The modest caretaker, Matriarch To plays matchmaker for her son To Ngan-sing and Lee. Ashamed of her past, Lee listens to the doctor's advice and keeps the Tos in the dark. Chor returns and coerces Lee into colluding with smuggling ring by threatening to kill her newborn daughter. The reluctant Lee is arrested in a police raid together with the gang members but is later acquitted. With a reputation to defend, To toughens his heart and expels Lee. Lee leaves for Borneo with a touring opera troupe but a yearning for her daughter brings her back several years later. Feeling for the upset in-law, Matriarch To grants her stay until his son's return from business in a few months' time. When To returns, he decides to make up for the wasted time by bringing Lee and her daughter home.

In this 1960s family comedy though, marriage is attached with a string of feudal obligations. Shun (Cheung Ying-choi) and Sum (Nam Hung) are happily married with a son. Shun's childless uncle from the US proposes to take away their son as his own and, when the couple refuse, demands that Shun marry a second wife to bear him an offspring. The couple in distress team up with their naughty friends in playing a game of bluff, which sets off a series of whimsical and side-splitting sequences. Director Chor Yuen tied the knot with actress Nam Hung three years after the film's release, leading to one of the most celebrated marriages in Hong Kong cinema.

This sitcom series premiered in 1981 and changed its name every year, from "Hong Kong 81" to "Hong Kong 86." It was eventually replaced by a new sitcom called "City Stories." The frugal and harsh father, CHENG SAM, and the open-minded and generous mother, LEUNG HANG MUI, are a lively couple in the family. Other family members include their lazy and rude son, YUEN YUK PO; their optimistic and irresponsible daughter, YUEN YUET CHU; their defiant and domineering daughter-in-law, HO SHUK KIANG, and their honest and confident son-in-law, YEUNG JO GAI. Their granddaughter, MUN HEI, is a free-spirited girl while their grandson, MUN CHOI, is a cunning and opportunistic businessman. The family's fortunes are tied to their partners, CHU CHI WAH and CHAN WING MAN. Together, they form a tapestry of modern urban life.

Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. Tragedy, romance, conflicts, and intrigues were featured. The series was immediately followed by a sequels titled "New Police Cadet '85" and "New Police Cadet '88". Both sequels stars Tony Leung.

The series follows Fang Jinchang, who was born into a poor family. Through hard work and diligence, he becomes a police inspector and is about to marry his fiancée, Xie Yueming. For personal gain, Zhong Weishun harms his biological father and, leveraging his family's influence, causes Fang Jinchang to be dismissed from his job and his engagement to be broken off. Later, with the help of Song Chuqiao, Fang Jinchang seeks revenge against his own brother.

《民間傳奇》adapted dozens of famous Chinese folk tales, dramas, and myth legends, such as "The Butterfly Lovers" and "Chang'e Flying to the Moon". These stories show the joys and sorrows of ancient Chinese people, and celebrate the righteous and kind while condemning evil. The endings are not always perfect, but justice eventually prevails and evil-doers get what they deserve. The show is a classic in Chinese TV history, often broadcasted during holidays, and remains unsurpassed to this day.

"Everybody's Somebody's Favourite" portrays the stories of three families, reflecting the "grassroots", "middle-class", and "wealthy" classes. A House Is Not a Home is a TVB television series, premiered on 1 August 1977. It is a very successful classic series boasting the likes of stars Liza Wang, Simon Yam, Ha Yu and also veteran actors like Bak Man-biu, Tang Pik-wan and Lee Heung-kam. The show became a 1970s drama classic, well-known also for its theme song, "A House Is Not a Home"; 家變, which was composed and arranged by Joseph Koo, with lyrics by the late Wong Jim and sung by Roman Tam.
