A graduation ceremony in the country. One last evening before the future dawns. Ups and downs, escalations and reconciliations.

How do you deal with it when a loved one suddenly decides against you and can no longer be reached. Rosa spends her summer in her former boyfriend's street, on the wall opposite his house, to get the apology she thinks she deserves and is supported in this endeavour by the residents of the street. One day it turns out that her ex-boyfriend has gone on holiday and Rosa is encouraged to do the same. A journey begins with the obsessive attempt to have a good time and the question of how to say goodbye to someone who is suddenly no longer there.

Lev works on a construction side in a new suburban residential area, in western Germany. But things change, friends will leave and the forest becomes a place of desire.

Munich, 1968: 21-year-old Laura, who has emigrated to the USA with her husband Gabriel, returns to her old home in Munich. Laura's father has been killed in a traffic accident a few days earlier. Her younger sister Friede is in a coma. Overwhelmed by the pain, her mother has withdrawn from the outside world. Laura feels abandoned, as she had hoped that the shared grief might help to overcome the tense relationship between her and her mother. Throughout her life, her mother was incapable of empathizing with her children and avoided any physical closeness. When her mother refuses to visit the critically injured Friede in hospital, Laura forces her into a confrontation in the hope of gaining a better understanding of her mother.

A brutal attack on the homeless Lennard in downtown Frankfurt links the fate of three women: Irina, a 28-year-old nurse, has witnessed the violence. The young Sam lives on the street. She was protected by Lennard after she was beaten up in search of food. The single mother Anne is from the clouds when her 18-year-old son Rio is led away by the police. He is accused of involvement in the violence against Lennard. This is hard to understand for Anne; she struggles to get her son to talk.
