Samuel has spent the last few years in and out a juvenile detention center for the crimes theft, assault and drug dealing. Without a real family, he is placed in a rehabilitation program and under the supervision Vincenzo, a social worker undergoing a profound existential crisis: having lost wife in a car crash, Vincenzo is convinced work is pointless and he is frustrated by the performance the down and out rugby team that he coaches after work. When Vincenzo catches the boy in a scuffle, he becomes convinced that Samuel, despite never having played rugby, is the only hope for salvaging the team.

Like every Saturday, Rosa Priore prepares the ragù for Sunday while her husband Peppino paces nervously around the kitchen, arguing about every little thing. When Sunday arrives, the entire Priore family gathers around the table and Mrs. Priore wears a beautiful blue scarf given to her by her neighbor, the thoughtful accountant Ianniello, who lavishes compliments on Donna Rosa and her cooking. After yet another compliment, Peppino explodes and accuses them in no uncertain terms of having an affair. Sunday is ruined, but will the family be able to pull themselves together on Monday?

The two meet by chance and recognize each other: they had a fling as teenagers, many years earlier. Yet first love is never forgotten, and so Giulio and Lucia find themselves together again. Their meeting, however, changes not only the lives of a man and a woman, but also those of two families as different as could be. Two families who find themselves living under the same roof without even having had the time to get to know each other well.
