Lazy Viswanathan and his gang of friends decide to contest the elections to become rich and powerful overnight.

Raghavan Thampi (Thilakan) and his wife Subhadra (Sukumari) have two sons, Prabhakaran (Nedumudi) and Pradeep (Jayaram). Prabhakaran wants to become a mridungam maestro against the wishes of his parents who want him to get married. When Prabhakaran refuses, Subhadra emotionally blackmails him and gets him married off to Shailaja (Geetha). Meanwhile Pradeep falls in love with Roshni (Urvashi) and they get married secretly without their parents' knowledge.

Mahadevan is a live witness to Radhika's hit-and-run accident. His helpful gesture of taking Radhika to the hospital, however, lands him in trouble when he is confronted by Meera, Radhika's friend.

Bobby (Suresh Gopi) comes to high range as a helicopter pilot working for Robinson (Sreenivasan). His job is to spray copper sulphate (thurisu) in the rubber plantations. He is assisted by Venkidi (Manian Pillai Raju), Nandu and Indrans. He faced some resistance from local workers like Chako (Jagathy Sreekumar). He also had to save Robinson from many troubles.

Sumathi, a famous actress longing for a simple life, accidentally gets off a train in a remote hill village while en route to a film shoot. Caught in heavy rain, she seeks shelter at the home of Madhu, the local estate manager, who initially hesitates but eventually takes her in. As she hides her identity, a landslide cuts off train access for a week, forcing her to stay. Mistaken for Madhu’s wife by his boss, Sumathi finds herself drawn to Madhu. Romance blossoms, but complications arise when her film crew tracks her down, leading to confusion and emotional revelations.
