Sophie just finished high school and is going to college. This means she will have to move out of town and say goodbye to her mother, brothers, sisters and her family home. Sophie wants to live on her own and and become independent, but at the same time she longs to be in her mother's arms, to the safety of her home and to prolong the scary and unknown.

A young woman finds herself struggling to maintain her mental health and grounded family life on a rural Dutch island when her capricious, city-dwelling thespian mother falls incurably ill and expects her increasingly regular company and assistance.

Twenty year old Lynn studies Psychology in Amsterdam. Now that she is living on her own, she is re-shaping her live and developing her own identity. This makes her extremely self-conscious. She is constantly thinking on how she is seen by other people, what people may think of her, what she should and shouldn't do. Her self-consciousness gets in the way.
