They create an “imagination factory” that has no limits. After finding Iris’s lost cell phone, provocative Yorgos, bases his Free Subject on his fictitious recreation of his teacher’s life. Free Subject deals with the limits of individual freedom in contemporary Western societies.

The series follows the lives and loves of three 30-something professionals in modern day Athens. Billy (Giorgos Pyrpassopoulos) is a reporter with a rather unsteady love-life. He is a homosexual, but tends to be turned-off by the quirks of his various partners and has yet to fully commit to a relationship.

The beloved duo, through improvisation and caustic scripts, plays the two different couples, then and now. The episodes of the series are self-contained, and in each one we watch simple everyday stories, such as marriage, children, entertainment, buying a car, holidays, and everything related to family. THEN AND NOW has many comical and ethnographic elements, combining laughter with emotion and highlighting the differences and similarities between two eras through the lives of two couples.
