While investigating the horrifying death of her boyfriend, Mai Takano learns about a videotape haunted by the spirit of a disturbing girl named Sadako, which kills anyone who watches it exactly one week later. When her boyfriend’s son, Yoichi, starts to develop the same psychic abilities as Sadako, Takano must find a way to keep the boy and herself from becoming the next victims.

Miki Imai's first video release, "[passage]". It was released in October 1987 by the LaserDisc Corporation (later known as Pioneer LDC) one month after Imai's second album, "elfin", released. In order to promote the album, a few songs featured in the album are included in this video, which documents Imai's adventures in France as she meets new people, tries new things, and explores new places. The songs from elfin included in the video are: "elfin", "Club Lonely Hearts Exotica", "Pole Position", and "Omoidashita Dake". It also includes a lot of energetic instrumental tracks that are not included anywhere else.

Imai Miki plays Midori, a fashion industry executive who is dedicated to her job but beginning to wonder if she is not missing something in life. "Fuyu no Sakura" is described as a pure love story with similarities to the popular Korean drama "Winter Sonata" (titled "Fuyu no Sonata" in Japan). Kusanagi plays a gentle glass craftsman in Yamagata who has no experience in love. Imai plays an older housewife with a husband and daughter who goes on a trip alone to Yamagata, hoping to see sakura trees blooming in winter. She gets into an accident, but is saved by Kusanagi. He ends up tending to her, and the two are soon drawn to each other.

Asakura Tetsuya is a man who leads a double life. By day, he is a mild-mannered and affable salaryman in the Mogi Corporation. Come night, he takes on the persona of a hardened and violent individual bent on exposing the shady dealings of his company. Tetsuya's brother was a former president of one of the Mogi subsidiaries, but committed suicide under mysterious circumstances after some company trouble. Tetsuya is convinced that a company conspiracy staged the suicide, and he is obsessed with finding out the truth in order to avenge his brother.

Office clerk Reiko is thrilled when her coworker boyfriend, Kenta, proposes marriage. She is excited to quit work and begin married life, but is suddenly promoted to chief of a new department. Why is the president so interested in this low-level employee? Meanwhile, the president's daughter has set her sights on Kenta. A tangled web of love has begun to be woven.

This romantic drama follows an office worker at the peak of happiness after becoming engaged to an elite trading company executive, as she struggles to overcome various hardships and live her life to the fullest.
