Paavo Mäkinen's alcoholism is hard on the whole family. His wife Terttu falls into depression and is hospitalized. Their children Marja, Tapsa, and Sanna each show symptoms in their own way: leaving home, drinking, skipping school. Will Paavo manage to stop drinking for the sake of his family?

Story of Jari, a misfit and coward who, after hitting his girlfriend escapes to a fish factory in Norway. There he meets Heikki, who works for the same company. However, the violence follows Jon in Norway too.

Escaping the city to his summer cottage with his children and a lady next door, a divorced university teacher is forced to pick up a young delirious woman from the roadside. He soon falls in love with her, only to find out she is a sought-after deserter from a violent guerilla army.

The company's regional manager has had enough of the fast pace of business and the frivolous patterns. He leaves the office sauna for a booze run at the behest of his boss. Drunk and driving his own car, even he doesn't have to. The situation becomes a thrilling chase that ends in a breathalyzer test and all-round relief as things fall into place. The booze run becomes a turning point in the life of the group's regional manager.
