The Atlanta murders of 1979–1981, sometimes called the Atlanta child murders, were a series of murders committed in Atlanta, Georgia, between July 1979 and May 1981. Over the two-year period, at least 28 children, adolescents, and adults were killed. Wayne Williams, an Atlanta native who was 23 years old at the time of the last murder, was arrested, tried, and convicted of two of the adult murders and sentenced to two consecutive life terms.

When the Twin Towers collapsed on September 11, 2001, thousands were feared trapped beneath the tons of steel and rubble. Jack Unterweger was an Austrian serial killer who murdered several women before committing suicide in 1994. In 1976 jailed for murder but became a literary sensation while in prison. Out on parole, he killed nine prostitutes before being caught once more.

In 2004, the Biography Channel aired its program about Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo, one of the greatest serial killers of the 20th century. Due to its length, 44 minutes, the program does not provide many details about his life or murders, however, it is very well conducted and explained.
