As Volk is walking through the city he sees Zayats on a balcony of an apartment block watering the plants. Imagining him as as a tasty meal Volk tries to climb up the balcony. A chase ensures, the first of many.

A musical animation about a London homeless man who, looking for a place to sleep, unwittingly begins a trip around the world. He manages to act in a movie, take part in a robbery and get married, only to turn back and start the journey again.

In which Volk and Zayats go skydiving!

Volk desperately tries to get onto a cruise ship to get Zayats.

Along a country road Volk is chasing Zayats who is riding on a bicycle.

Volk is spying on Zayats with a spyglass "hidden" in a birdhouse..

This time the Volk stumbles upon Zayats while Zayats is marching while playing a drum.

Continuing the carefree tone of their previous encounter, this time Volk and Zayats continue their"cat-and-mouse" behaviour in the countryside.

Two plots: "Quarrel" and "Heroic Symphony".

Volk and Zayats try themselves out at sports to varying results.

The final "canonical" episode of the series is a New Year Special.

00s brought a positive change to the lives of Volk and Zayats and they return to their carefree and lighthearted roots on a summer resort.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

Follows the comical adventures of a mischievous yet artistic wolf [Volk], trying to catch a hare [Zayats]. The series has additional characters that usually either help the hare or interfere with the wolf's plans
