Shinji Miyadai

The story of a teenage boy called Yu, who falls for Yoko, a girl he runs into while operating for the sake of sin as an upskirt photographer in an offshoot of the porn industry. His attempts to woo her are complicated by a spot of cross-dressing - which convinces Yoko that she is lesbian - dalliances with kung-fu and crime, and a constant struggle with the guilt that's a legacy of his Catholic upbringing.

A man, who once dreamed of becoming a punk rocker, is working as a low salaryman at a musical instrument parts company. He's secretly in love with his colleague. One day, he finds a little turtle on the rooftop, naming it Pikadon.

Seiji works on construction sites. He sympathizes with Hosaka just back from Thailand. Together, they spend their evenings in bars with Thai girls. On a construction site, they meet Takeru, a member of the hip-hop collective of the city.

Two of the most radical student groups form the United Red Army (URA) and head into the mountains to conduct a training camp. Ideology devolves into despotism, and the URA's leaders begin to arbitrarily persecute their followers, a harrowing ordeal that culminates in violence and murder.

High school student Ami was born through a fertilization technique. Her brother is developmentally challenged and is immature for his age. They go on a trip and when they arrive at a clinic decide to stay with the doctor and his wife.

In the year 2045, after the re-militarization of Japan, conflict erupts in Korea, and Japan is destroyed in the ensuing nuclear war. A survivor uses an old computer in the "zone" to produce a documentary from photographs, interviews and newsreels, reconstucting the last 100 years of Japanese history
