ZG80 is a prequel of Metastaze. The movie brings back its characters to prewar Yugoslavia where they, as part of Bad Blue Boys, go on a football match in Belgrade to see Dinamo play against Crvena Zvezda. However, the winning lottery paper, by unfortunate circumstances, reaches the hands of Žile and Sale, the owner of the local cafes. Unprepared to manage this money, they go to the Greek island Corfu in the hopes that will inspired them for a business. Two suspicious Belgrade "businessman" fallow them to Corfu to steal them the ticket.

This comedy of the absurd is set in the Nazi puppet Independent State of Croatia (NDH) during World War II. The hero, Ljiljan is a young peasant poet who joins the Partisan movement just before it falls apart, abandoned by its leader Tito. The last remaining hope for resisting Nazism is to assassinate Hitler. Ljiljan’s task is to write a song that will allow his Partisan band to infiltrate the inner sanctum of the SS – by entering an SS talent show. If they win the competition, they will be invited to perform before Hitler and the NDH’s high command. This is a satirical coming-of-age tale with a difference, capturing the craziness, comedy and horror of war in the Balkans.

After a horrible massacre in a village where twelve people lost their lives, the killer shoots himself in the head, but with a strange combination of circumstances, he still remains alive. Petar, a BIA operative, is trying to figure out what actually happened because the killer, before he shot himself, uttered the word "katabaza", the same one that his late son said before he committed suicide. The psychologist Natasha helps him in that, who, unlike Petra, rationalizes the whole case, and does not think that there is anything mysterious in it.

The plot of the series follows the harmonious history of Serbia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries (from the accession to the throne of King Milan Obrenovic in 1882 to his abdication in 1889), from the point of view of Tanasije K. Abadzic, the king's aide, who found himself in that position through no fault of his own. Tanasije K. Abadzic is a junior military official at Obrenovic's court and the great-grandson of Crni Gruja.
