When the Snow Queen, a lonely and powerful fairy, kidnaps the human boy Kai, his best friend Gerda must overcome many obstacles on her journey to rescue him.

Chieri is a sixth grade girl whose only friend is a stuffed toy named Cherry, which she found while hiding in the cellar during her father's funeral. Chieri and Cherry undertake a journey on the border between fantasy and reality.

Before going on an overseas journey, a merchant father asks his three daughters what they would like him to bring back for them. The eldest asks for a shining tiara, the middle asks for a frame through which her face would always appear young, and the youngest (Nastenka) asks her father to bring her a beautiful scarlet flower like one which she saw in her dreams. Her elder sisters laugh at this simple wish. The father's trip is successful and he finds everything that he came for, with the exception of Nastenka's scarlet flower. Nevertheless, the ship heaves off and they begin to head back while the father scans the lands around him for a scarlet flower.

The film is based on an ancient Chinese fairy tale about the simple people of China who despite of heavy work and oppression, did not lose belief in life and love to freedom

Once a year, under every tree and bush, a small man-bearer is born. All the summer he works tirelessly over the magical colors, which in the autumn will paint the leaves in yellow, orange and red. This animation film will tell about one such little man who appeared under the maple and about the hooligan Kuzma, who took away his paint from him. With their help, he won recognition and respect at the contest of autumn drawing, but did not have time to enjoy them, since his deception quickly opened.
