Giuseppe, 33, is still struggling to build his life in a small Italian town where he has to hide his homosexuality. With a Polaroid in hand, he decides to leave for Berlin to find Peter, a summer love he has never forgotten. The shock of a cosmopolitan city is nothing compared to the moment he realizes that the German artist has a "normal" family. For him this represents the possibility of 'losing' himself and meeting Marco, who takes him around all night to arrive at dawn to the conviction that love is the only strength to find one's identity. "Polaroid" is one of five short film segments in an omnibus feature titled "A Quintet".

New anti-gay laws have just been approved in Russia. After a competition in St. Petersburg, Italian swimmer Massimo meets a Russian of his own age, Vladimir, working as an interpreter for the delegation of which Massimo is a member. The two men fall in love, but they will have to face the cultural barriers between them, as well as old and new macho stereotypes.

Matteo and Riccardo are blissfully in love and are getting ready to celebrate their six-month anniversary. But their romantic interlude takes an unexpected turn when an unforeseen event shakes their certainties. Matteo withdraws into himself, Riccardo wavers between wanting to run away and being curious, and the couple suddenly finds itself facing questions they had never dared to ask. Amid desire, tension, and hope, they’ll have to confront their fears and strengthen the bond that unites them.

Because artificial insemination in Italy is restricted to married straight couples, Chiara must travel to Holland to be inseminated, and she can’t risk losing their only chance to become mothers. Will she be able to handle the physical and emotional burdens of both her secret and her pregnancy?

A quintet is an omnibus feature told from the perspective of five international up and coming filmmakers who are searching to find identity in the modern world.
