Juan Córdoba

Chronicle of the daily activity of a newspaper called La Jornada. Through the events covered by the gossip columnist that occupy precisely the seventh page, a portrait emerges of different classes of Spain in the 50's and a vision of reality where facts are mixed comedy, police, emotional, dramatic and even tragic.

The owner of a building tyrannizes his immigrant tenants. Transformed into a dog by an old woman's curse, he experiences all the hardships of his situation; when a child's affection turns him back into a man, his soul is radically changed.

Tired of the hardship imposed by his modest salary, Don Sabino selling their meager belongings and convinces his sons to join him in the adventure of know other cities, other people and another way of living.

Juan marries prestigious lawyer María José. As she won't give up her career to become a housewife, during their wedding night Juan pretends to leave his job and acts out the role of a traditional housewife himself.

San Ginés de la Sierra is a small village lost in the mountains in southern Spain. It is known throughout the region for two peculiar characteristics: its "persistent" drought and a "Home of the Vanquished". This "home" is an institution that houses some twenty old people, to whose care are eleven nuns and crosses a distressing economic situation. The nuns are desperately seeking a solution and decide to hold a charity bulls run.

A wealthy couple is hampered by having no children. The sister-in-law feels attracted to the husband and marries his brother. Tension raises between them when the wife feels ill.

Dr. Nicomedes Gutiérrez carefully points out to the last detail everything that happens in his life. Doctor in a small village, he is in love with the village teacher, but, before getting married, he decides to treat himself to having his last fling.
