A freak lived his entire lifetime closed down in a cellar far in the country. But one day the Monkey Boy, after the death of his "keeper", an old lonely woman, is forced to explore the world outside. The story is set during one night only, a short time to discover the world, but enough time to find Agata, an autistic young girl, the only creature that seems to be able to communicate with him in that dark night full of weird lonely and unhappy characters called human beings.

Dario is a boy with disabilities who cannot speak or walk but can communicate using a computer through Facilitated Communication with the help of Ada, his “facilitator.” He lives alone with his father, who has recently discovered that he has a severe heart condition and will need to undergo delicate heart surgery. Concerned about his son’s future, as the boy could be left alone in the world if the surgery goes wrong, the man turns to a social worker. The social worker advises him to draft a “Life Project” together with Dario, a document that outlines the son’s needs and wishes for the time when the father will no longer be there.

Orpheus was a child with a dream: to become a singer of smooth. Twenty years later, his dream becomes more complicated: to become a smooth singer with Pamela. And while she, free and elusive, continues to come and go in her life, music and dreams mark the rhythm of this bizarre love story.
