Rishi, a thief, happens to own a floppy incriminating a minister of murder. Things turn chaotic when his lookalike Velu is targeted by the minister for the footage.

She is the daughter of a police commissioner. Later, Satya falls in love with Suchitra. That leads to several problems which are faced bravely by Satya in the later part of the film. Finally, all goes well, and Satya also receives the letter confirming his selection for IPS.

The plot revolves around the dark complexioned and uneducated girl and how she convinces everyone that more than appearance and education, it is the character which is important for a woman.

Thanigachalam manages to save Meena from committing suicide. Meena reminds him of his late daughter Uma. Later, Meena tries her best to console Saker who is mourning Uma's death.

Radha in lead with Devika, Nagesh, Pushpalatha and C. Lakshmi Rajyam played pivotal role. The film had musical score by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy and was released on 14 January 1965.
