Inspired by the cult Quebec classic, The Dog Who Stopped the War: Reimagined is a collective recreation orchestrated by Kino Montréal. The project brings together multiple filmmakers, each invited to reinvent a scene from the original film in their own distinct way. Blending comedy, drama, horror, experimentation, and absurdity, every segment offers a unique vision, creating a true collage of styles and tones. Once assembled, these reinterpretations form an unpredictable and fragmented feature film that pays tribute to a landmark of Quebec cinema

As the Christmas holidays begin, a group of 10 war-obsessed kids have a wave of inspiration: What if they spend the next two weeks engaged in a simulated war, armed only with shields, wooden swords, snowballs, and a fierce sense of competition? With a bounty chest waiting for the winners, the two sides gradually grow in size, and the war grows in importance, taking over all aspects of their lives.

Using pixillation, or the art of animating inanimate objects, the rides and carnival atmosphere of an amusement park are displayed at a dizzying fast pace; Images are accompanied by a tense modern jazz score.
