Rachana is a 1983 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Mohan and produced by Sivan Kunnampilly. The film stars Srividya, Nedumudi Venu, Bharath Gopi and Mammootty in lead roles. The film had musical score by MB Sreenivasan.Bharath Gopi won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

It is a story about a father and a son which is filled with sentiments or sorrow. Govindankutty (Mohanlal) is on a look out for his unknown father seeking to take revenge by killing him for leaving him and his mother. Then enters Anantha Subramaniam (Sivaji Ganeshan) a rich trader, who comes to Govindankutty's home-town and likes him instantly for his loyalty and honesty.

Esthappan and Anto are two fishermen who do not get along well. However, when Esthappan learns that Anto sings and dances well, he requests him to perform in his stage plays.

The story revolves around Aniyan Thampuran (Mohanlal), a naive and innocent prince of an erstwhile royal family, and his household in a village of Kerala. Ananthakrishnan (Suresh Gopi) is a budding journalist with a Kerala based newspaper. He does a story on the famous dancer Gayathri Devi (Madhavi) which brings him accolades. After a while, Anathakrishnan meets Gayathri Devi by coincidence in a hotel and she tells him about some striking scandals regarding the powerful state home minister Valappad Balakrishnan (NF Varghese). Gayathri Devi is suddenly killed under suspicious circumstances and Ananthapkrishnan is swept into her dangerous world.

Ravunni Nair and Saraswathi Amma were colleagues teaching in the same school. They eventually got married, when the former was 45 and the latter was 40. The greatest sorrow of their life was that they were childless. After retirement from school, Maya, a friend's daughter, comes to stay with them.

But as puberty stage starts, both experiences lust over each other. The widow accepts them as foster children and perform their marriage, but fate intervenes as an incurable disease for Anitha.
