A young suitor loses his girlfriend to a wealthy businessman. At first he's angry. Then in a fit of depression, he goes to the sea shore where he finds lizards. Immediately he puts the lizards into a bag and takes them home. Then he becomes obsessed with ladies dirty underwear and he steals six or seven "tainted" ones from public restrooms and brothels. At this point the man mixes the juices from the underwear with a special "aggressive compound" and then injects the fluid into the lizards. The little reptiles (now hooked on "love juice") become soldiers in his personal battle against females. "I hate women!" he screams, holding helpless victim's legs apart allowing the little creatures to gain entrance. Lots of women die, driven mad with sexual ecstasy and pain, while the misogynist psycho howls with laughter.

The three gangs fight for the possession of a nuclear pistol and allegiances shift as the agents fall in love.

Ghost-faced To is murdered in a mortuary after paying a visit to Muk Lan-fa. A set of teeth is found missing from another dead body. The news of her sister’s abduction by the infamous Japanese criminal Katsu Saburo soon reaches Lan-fa. Working together with her police friend Ko Cheung to crack the case, Lan-fa analyses photo evidences in minute detail. The duo order the retrieval of a pole that has survived the explosion intact while lying in wait at the clinic. Sau-chen, who has escaped, saves the duo from the chiller where they are detained. Inspector Yeung retrieves the operation plan concealed in the pole and the secret codes in the set of teeth, but the spook is shot dead by Katsu before he could reach the Hell’s Gate and the treasure buried there. Constable Kwan, and others and wipes out the gang at the Hell’s Gate.

Reporter Yu Mong-yuen is recovering from a leg injury in his fiancee Man-wah's apartment. Bored, he looks out the rear window and observes the life of the neighbouring building. Among the tenants are a sugar-daddy and his mistress, a middle-aged man wants to marry a young girl, but she is in love with his son. Finally, she hatches a plot and makes the man agree to her marrying his son ; a sly fortune-teller ; a lively gym, a rich widow quarrels with the trainer of a gymnasium because his dog has bitten her cat ; and an opera school, a woman signs, leaning on the balcony, and a man tries to strangle her. In fact they are rehearsing an opera…… One evening, Wah is on the night shift, and Yuen watches the opera troupe rehearse to the end. Under the influence of drugs, Yu mistakenly believes that a divorced man has murdered a taxi dancer. He alerts the police, but the whole thing is nothing more than a misunderstanding.

Tina Ti leads a star-studded cast in this hilarious farce as a pickpocket who, while fleeing the police, stumbles into an apartment occupied by seven single men. All hungry for a woman's affection, the men agree to take her in. However, what she doesn't know is that each of the men is coming up with ridiculous ways to have their way with her. A surreal comedy about sexual repression and sexual fantasies, the film mocks the desperate measures people take in the name of sexual gratification. Even though it is an erotic comedy at heart, it is never lewd or exploitative. In fact, like other Cantonese films at the time, the story even ends on a moralistic note as Tam Bing-man's character convinces the pickpocket to turn herself in and mend her ways.

A House Is Not a Home is a TVB television series, premiered on 1 August 1977. It is a very successful classic series boasting the likes of stars Liza Wang, Simon Yam, Ha Yu and also veteran actors like Bak Man-biu, Tang Pik-wan and Lee Heung-kam. The show became a 1970s drama classic, well-known also for its theme song, "A House Is Not a Home"; 家變, which was composed and arranged by Joseph Koo, with lyrics by the late Wong Jim and sung by Roman Tam.
