Caroline Cilburn and her 11-year-old brother Jody have lived with their stepmother Diana in London since their father died. Her older brother Angus works on an oil rig off the west coast of Scotland. Jody misses his big brother very much and tries to persuade Caroline to visit Angus in Scotland. In fact, Caroline and Jody soon make their way to their unsuspecting brother in a borrowed car.

The film is based on the memoirs of Hamburg burglar Julius Adolf Petersen (1882-1933), who became famous as "Lord of Barmbeck". Petersen owed his status as a folk hero to the fact that he did not use any physical violence during his raids and only stole from rich people. After several times escaping, Petersen was finally sentenced to a long prison term. With no prospect of release, he took his own life in 1933.

After Willy Unterkofer, an old acquaintance of the Germingers, is murdered, Franz Junior takes over the investigation together with Karl and Anna and a family quarrel soon arises. Franz Senior and Erika seem to want to steer the youngsters in a certain direction. Their credo is that the past should be put to rest, but this makes Franz Junior and Anna even more curious about what the seniors are hiding. The fronts soon harden and everything is at stake: not only Schwarzach 23, but also the whole family...

A melancholic enjoyable journey by an old couple who escape the dreary everyday life of a Berlin retirement home for a day: at Pentecost, Margarete and Heinrich come up with the idea of visiting their nephew, whom they believe to have invited them to dinner. So they set off on their own, and although they don't always know where they are or why they have actually set off, they have a wonderful day. Even if the police find them and bring them back before they reach their destination.

Peter Sandmann, the charming owner of a marriage institute, is a brilliant matchmaker. His problem: all the candidates would love to share a table and bed with him straight away, but the lively mini-playboy is extremely reluctant to exchange rings. This inevitably leads to some turbulence in his love life...
