Music for Hangovers is a live album and DVD by the rock band Cheap Trick. The album is a compilation from the band's four nights at The Metro in Chicago, Illinois in 1998. The Illinois power-pop quartet of vocalist/guitarist Robin Zander, lead guitarist Rick Nielsen, bass guitarist Tom Petersson, and drummer Bun E. Carlos, the most famous hard rock band to come out of the American Midwest, are in full flight as they perform at the Hordern Pavillion Sydney, 1988, before a raving capacity crowd. Heavily influencing alternative and heavy metal bands of the '80s and '90 with their catchy power pop melodies and arena rock aesthetic, Cheap Trick are showcased here at the peak of their career.

Filmed in the late summer of 1999, Cheap Trick: Silver is a 25th anniversary celebration of the Rockford, Illinois, band famous for marrying British Invasion-era pop hooks with the guitar crunch of the Who's Quadrophenia period. Shot on a sealed-off, Rockford street, the concert is an electrifying overview of high points from the group's discography. The songs plucked from each of their albums reveal a remarkable power-pop consistency over the long haul, despite the band's lengthy periods of commercial rejection and bare survival. Visibly thrilled, Cheap Trick soar here through monster hits ("I Want You to Want Me," "Dream Police") and milk every drop of emotion from masterful ballads ("I Can't Take It"). While stellar guests include Slash and Billy Corgan, it's the appearances by less famous folk (the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, a few offspring of guitarist Rick Nielsen and singer Robin Zander) that movingly underscore the populist glories of this American band.

The group salutes the 40th anniversary of the seminal Beatles album with a dynamic track-by-track rendition that features the New York Philharmonic, an Indian music ensemble, and an array of special guests. At the helm is Geoff Emerick who engineered the Fab Four's definitive album in 1967. Cheap Trick infuse their brand of Beatlesque power pop into a live tribute that pays homage to their musical influences.
