Over the past four decades, Illinois rockers Cheap Trick have released 16 studio albums, sold more than 20 million units, played over 5,000 concerts, and inspired countless artists throughout multiple generations. 1979's Cheap Trick at Budokan launched the band into international stardom and brought their overseas success home to the United States.

Fueled by a boost from their 1988 hit ballad "The Flame," Cheap Trick launched a comeback that took the group around the world on their "Lap of Luxury" tour. Recorded in Sydney, Australia, this 70-minute concert includes "Surrender," "I Want You to Want Me," "Big Eyes," "If You Want My Love," "On Top of the World," "Just Got Back," "Dream Police," "Clock Strikes Ten," "Never Had a Lot to Lose" and more.

Well known for their four decades of almost non-stop touring and new music, the group combines their famous power pop and melodic sounds as they rock out in this special concert. Seventeen studio albums under their belt make for so many great songs including favorites like 'Surrender,' 'Dream Police' and 'I Want You to Want Me.' The Illinois power-pop quartet of vocalist/guitarist Robin Zander, lead guitarist Rick Nielsen, bass guitarist Tom Petersson, and drummer Bun E. Carlos, the most famous hard rock band to come out of the American Midwest, are in full flight as they perform at the Hordern Pavillion Sydney, 1988, before a raving capacity crowd. Heavily influencing alternative and heavy metal bands of the '80s and '90 with their catchy power pop melodies and arena rock aesthetic, Cheap Trick are showcased here at the peak of their career.

Filmed in the late summer of 1999, Cheap Trick: Silver is a 25th anniversary celebration of the Rockford, Illinois, band famous for marrying British Invasion-era pop hooks with the guitar crunch of the Who's Quadrophenia period. Shot on a sealed-off, Rockford street, the concert is an electrifying overview of high points from the group's discography. The songs plucked from each of their albums reveal a remarkable power-pop consistency over the long haul, despite the band's lengthy periods of commercial rejection and bare survival. Visibly thrilled, Cheap Trick soar here through monster hits ("I Want You to Want Me," "Dream Police") and milk every drop of emotion from masterful ballads ("I Can't Take It"). While stellar guests include Slash and Billy Corgan, it's the appearances by less famous folk (the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, a few offspring of guitarist Rick Nielsen and singer Robin Zander) that movingly underscore the populist glories of this American band.
