Summer vacation. But Lars remain in town for his parents must work. One day as he bikes around, he hears a scream from a garden.

Jacob is a young man used to getting everything he wants. This film introduces us to Hugo, a one-of-a-kind animal who lives in a jungle. Youthful and carefree, Hugo is prone to playing practical jokes on his friends, Zig and Zag the monkeys. His idyllic lifestyle is interrupted when he is captured by CEO of a famed movie company, Conrad Cupmann, to be co-star in a Hollywood-style film. In order to return from Copenhagen to his jungle home, he must escape with the help of a newly found friend, Rita the fox.

A reunion with Sonja from Saxogade, the children's TV star of the 1960s, who in this film spends her vacation on Bornholm and is visited by her mother, Jytte Abildstrøm, wearing high heels and a bouffant hairstyle, at the campsite near Gudhjem. Freddy Fræk is her boyfriend, and Jesper Klein collects butterflies.
