Alex and Max are two "bachelors" who share the same house: Alex, advertising copywriter, is boxing, is an impenitent dongiovanni and does not hesitate to betray his colleague and girlfriend Paola; Max, saxophonist, neglects his ulcer and is attracted, yes, but also scared, by women.

A man who has just robbed a small bank holds four people hostage in a bakery after escaping a police chase. He begins a tense negotiation with the police, who have set up headquarters in a post office overlooking the street where the bakery is located. The situation is made difficult and comically bizarre by the nature of the hostages who just so happen to be in the bakery at the time of the raid.

Carlo Corsi, coach of a rising football team, encourages his talented son Marco to become a champion. However, Marco struggles with the pressure, leading him to use performance-enhancing drugs. The mother, Giovanna, tries to reunite the family through their shared love of the sport.
