Erell is a young girl living with a chronically-ill mother and a quirky father in a small factory town in France. She is never without her camera, and rarely without the company of her three childhood friends. The return of her sister after four years of silence may finally shed some light on the parts of herself and of her family she has never understood.

Like every evening, ten-year-old Gaëlle takes care of her little brother Kylian, while their father, Tony, works the night shift. All three of them are surviving in this fragile balance when the social services come knocking at their door.

Sanou, a bright 15-year-old, enrolls in the famous Henri IV school in Paris. In this prestigious institution, the young girl from the Saint-Denis outer suburbs finds herself dropped into a world a million miles from everything she knows.
