Legend holds that 30 years ago, a suburban town was terrorized by the spirit of a woman whose horrid face had been grotesquely disfigured. Roaming the streets wearing a long coat and carrying large scissors, the spirit would approach her young victims and, while removing the mask, ask if she was pretty. The victim’s response would almost always lead to their violent death.

A bioterrorism incident occurs at a university in Western Australia. Chris and Piers from BSAA's anti-bioterrorism unit head to the scene to investigate, and they cooperate with former S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca, who is teaching at the university. Some black liquid sprays him in the face and the next thing we know he’s infecting the rest of his colleagues as they turn into zombies. Soon the game turns deadly as the undead cosplayers start attacking the girls with real weapons. They need to find a way to escape from the place and fast…..

High school seniors Mikayo, Chuko and Kei are forced to join a historical research club to fulfill a graduation requirement. Their teacher, Mr. Kachi, plans a mandatory club trip to a small village called Oshakabe in Yamagata prefecture to study remnants of an ancient clan of warriors called the ochimusha who displayed legendary cowardice in battle. When they arrive, the local villagers hold a special ceremony and construct a "super shrine". As a result, an 800-year seal is broken, unleashing a curse that causes the ochimusha to rise from the grave.

Sixteen occult freaks from all over Japan and horror idol Saaya, who herself has experienced many horror stories, gather at a studio in Tokyo. In front of Junji Inagawa, the undisputed charismatic figure of the occult world, the participants recounted their own horror stories.

The film has been described by Kawasaki as being 'like Forrest Gump...but with a crab.'

Taishô's father is a supermodel cat, and everybody believes that Taishô will be a supermodel as well. His family has great expectations of him, because he is the eldest son, but he can't bear all the pressure and runs away from home. Unfortunately, he has no clue how to survive on his own, having always been fed and pampered as a model cat. Taishô passes from one job to another, homeless, until he finds his place in a noodle shop, where he becomes a successful cook.
