Ivan Canabrava is a writer, turned insurance ivestigator who investigates mysterious deaths involving Bufo Marinus. Bufo Marinus is a frog poison causing catalepsy in humans, simulating death, enabling grand insurance fraud and other crimes. Ten years later, now as a successful writer, similar characters possibly using Bufo Marinus reappear and create an intricate plot full of surprises.

Canavial de Paixões is a Brazilian telenovela produced and shown by the Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão from 13 October 2003 through 22 March 2004. Based the original text of Caridad Bravo Adams, it was translated into the Portuguese for Enrique Zambelli and Simoni Boer, with supervision of text of Ecila Pedroso and general direction of teledramaturgia of David Grimberg. It had 118 chapters. Bianca Castanho and Gustavo Haddad are the main protagonists. Débora Duarte, Helena Fernandes, Oscar Magrini are the main antagonists.

Dona Anja is a Brazilian telenovela produced by JPO Produções and originally broadcast by SBT from December 9, 1996, to April 26, 1997. Based on the novel of the same name by Josué Guimarães, it was adapted by Cristianne Fridman and Yoya Wursch, with general direction by Roberto Talma. The telenovela stars Lucélia Santos, Jonas Mello, Angelina Muniz, Danton Mello, Manuela Dias, Giuseppe Oristânio, Luiz Guilherme, and Sérgio Mamberti. Written by Yoya Wursch and directed by Roberto Talma and José Paulo Vallone, the telenovela was produced in partnership with JPO Produções and had 117 episodes. It stars Giuseppe Oristanio, Maria Padilha, Taumaturgo Ferreira, Patrícia de Sabrit, Paulo Nigro, Ana Kutner, Ittala Nandi, Cláudia Lira, Edwin Luisi, Afonso Nigro, and Fausto Maule. The story takes place at Colégio Brasil, a school where students and teachers experience friendships, conflicts, discoveries, and challenges of adolescence. The plot follows Nair, a strict and bitter school inspector marked by a painful past, and the lives of students who deal with issues such as friendship, relationships, teenage conflicts, sexuality, safe sex, and pregnancy.
