The rivalry between a professional doctor and a midwife in a small Greek village. A retired doctor decides to settle down with his family in his wife's village and opens a medical practice. However, he gradually comes into conflict with the village midwife and her unorthodox medical practices, namely eye-opening and amulets. The midwife's son, a medical student in Athens, comes to the village for vacation, falls in love with the doctor's daughter, who tries to reduce her influence over the villagers.

Alexis and Anna-Maria fall in love each other after a car accident. Alexis is rich and Anna-Maria is studying music. Her grandfather, a renowned conductor, now plays music in tavernas to win his bread. A boy who sells jasmine helps the couple stay together in the difficult moments.

Young teacher Floras arrives to teach a class at a girls’ high school in Athens. His students, daughters of rich Athenian families, are very spoilt making his and the other teachers work difficult. When he starts implementing discipline in his class, the girls use every means to get rid of him. But the most undisciplined, Lisa Papastavrou, falls in love with him.

Through the narration of a tenant of a block of flats on 288 Stournara street, we watch the everyday stories of people living in the city, their problems, their comic situations and their love affairs.

Their life changes with the arrival of a young volunteer doctor, Angela (Nina Sgouridou), whose dynamic presence transforms life on the island. Stathis and Angela become a couple and make everything to improve life at Spinalonga. However, on the occasion of young Sifis’s (Tzannis Kourkoulakos) “escape” from the island, Stathis’s attitude changes.

Young Alexis Vranas returns to Athens form studying abroad and starts working for a major company. There, he will meet and fall in love with a secretary, Varvara Papadopoulos.

An old chauffeur, after removing his rambling son, decides to live with his orphaned girl while facing the advent of the car that displaces the carts.
