Manne, Harri, and Ville Alfa are rootless twenty-somethings in search of purpose for their banal lives. After Manne steals a priceless painting from a group of petty criminals, Manne and Harri flee from the gangsters across Finland, while Ville goes to Paris. On the road they meet Veera, an old girlfriend of Harri's, and try to avoid the gangsters in pursuit.

Young Alex Sammakko has seen his brothers defy the law in a series of deeds that first land them in jail, and then, after they escape and return to their rural home, land them back in the lap of their locally notorious family. Alex wants nothing to do with them. He is in love with Mirja, whose family is not that different from the Sammakko's, but who shares Alex's viewpoints and feelings. Not helping matters is a police department convinced that all Sammakkos are bad, and the family itself, pressuring Alex to follow in their murky footsteps.

The King Without a Heart is a fairytale about of a happy king who has a young daughter and a lovely wife. After the sudden death of his wife, the king becomes so sad that he wants his heart taken out of his chest. The kingdom is turned into an effective society based on reason, and there is no longer place for emotions. When she grows up, the princess tries to make her father see the importance of play and emotions.

Surgeon Niilo Leino finds out that his former fellow student suffering from fears and insecurity is hired as his colleague. Leino tries to give him opportunities to show his ability but it occurs he hasn't escaped from his fears.

For six hundred years Sweden had controlled most of Finland until the war with Russia that ended in 1809, when Finland became a Grand Duchy of the Russian Czar. This period drama is set during that early 19th-century war and focuses on one of its heroes, Sven Tuuva. Sven is a decent yet not too brilliant soldier, and his exploits are partly balanced here by the charms of a compatriot.

A cynical tale of two liquor smugglers, who struggle with life, love and lust. A seedy love triangle is unavoidable.

Tom Mack falls in love with fashion designer Leila Linna. Romance develops, with a little diamond smuggling to keep things interesting.

With a major offensive on the Karelian Isthmus imminent, Airo gives the order to attack without consulting the commander-in-chief.

A psychological drama of a young student who is haunted by the nightmares of the past: he has witnessed his parents committing a double-suicide. He starts to date a girl with fateful consequences.

Heikki Aaltonen enlists in military service, leaving behind his father Hemminki, mother Mimmi, and beloved Helvi on the family farm. At the same time, another Heikki Aaltonen enlists, who is completely different in character from the future small farmer Aaltonen. The constant confusion between the men's names, the overprotective attitude of their parents, and Helvi's admission to a domestic science school near the regiment are all factors that tend to disrupt Heikki's military service.

The film tells the story of the romance between the timber rafters and widow Kaisa, her daughter Satu and Katri from Karkela. Problems are caused by the men in the village, especially the Master of Karkela, who has his own plans for widow's land.

The director of the Vaudeville Theater is looking for new performers after the former star was forced to give up her singing career. Out of numerous auditionees, singer P. Waltteri Vitikka is hired. At the same time, the janitor tries to maintain order in the theater.

Pelle Hermanni is a Finnish children's TV show shown on YLE TV2 in the Pikku Kakkonen children's program. The show's main character is Pelle Hermanni, a clown who lives in his own trailer at a circus trailer park. He was played by Veijo Pasanen, cousin of director and inventor Pertti "Spede" Pasanen. There is no major continuing plot, instead the episodes consist of Hermanni talking about his life and daily events in a funny, clownish, somewhat childish way. His comedic antics are further increased by the comically misproportioned props and his way of fumbling over difficult words. Hermanni would often ask questions from his children audience, and then pretend to actually hear what they answered, saying such things like "Right, Annika there knew the answer!" In by far the most of the episodes, Hermanni is the only human actor shown. Other characters include Vekkari, Hermanni's large alarm clock which starts ringing when Hermanni least wants, and Kepakko, a wooden teacher's staff who feels intellectually superior to Hermanni and often insults him by laughing at him. Hermanni is especially fond of his dear old mother and the pancakes with strawberries she makes, and he often phones her to see how she's doing. Hermanni's telephone is a large, complex contraption with its own video communications screen. Because the show predates actually feasible real-world video communication by more than a decade, this only adds to the comedy.
