Viktor Ivanov is a Soviet and Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, writer. He was born in the city of Kozyatyn, Kyiv province. In 1936, he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (Sergei Eisenstein's workshop). During World War II, he fought in the ranks of the Red Army and was wounded.
