This film, based on a well-known novel of the same name by Sadegh Chooback, is about a wronged man seeking revenge. Director Amir Naderi's inspiration for making the film was one of his childhood heroes, the legendary Zar Mohammad, who waged a one-man war against four swindlers and provoked wide spread popular sentiment against tyranny.

Four men: Akbar, a taxi driver, Mansour, a government employee, Mustafa, a boxer, and Qasem, a smuggler, return a man's stolen wallet, and the man issues a check for forty thousand tomans in their names as a reward. The next day is a holiday, and they, who do not trust each other, move into Mansour's house. Mansour lives with his wife and daughter Marzieh, and Mustafa falls in love with the girl, who has already been deceived. Mustafa defeats his opponent in the Asian qualifying match, which is held on Friday. In the meantime, Qasem arranges with his friends to be ready on Saturday when the check is collected and to steal the wallet. Qasem's accomplices intervene, and Mansour is killed in a fight with Qasem's bullets. Qasem is arrested, and Mansour, at the last moment, hands his daughter over to Mustafa.

Setwar Khan Nayeb (Abdul Ali Homayoun) plans to marry his niece Maryam (Parastu) to his son Bahram (Arif); but Bahram is in love with Parvin (Marjan).

Ghasem after getting released from the prison goes after his friend Abbas in the south. He there first has a fight with a guy who caused him to be jailed and then meets a girl Zari. But he knows that her father who is rich will not agree with him to marry her so with the help of his friend Abbas takes the girl and escapes to Tehran. This causes many troubles for him.

Well-educated and humble teacher Mr Hekmati arrives in a new city and at a new job in the pre-revolutionary Iran. He falls in love with a hardworking underprivileged young woman who nurses her elderly mother and raises her young brother.

Arbab Jamshid St. is a congregation place for the extras of Persian Film where they wait for a famous person called Ciccio to take them to the movie location. There is a newcomer in this group; a young man called Davoud who has moved to Tehran from a small town with the hope of becoming an actor.

Hashem is a cab driver who finds an infant child in the back seat of his cab one night after he gives a ride to a young woman. Hashem and his girlfriend, Taji, try to cope with this unwanted child. Hashem insists on getting rid of the child, Taji on keeping him.
