In the spring of 1999, a group of old friends gather to celebrate their 20 year reunion. Among the group is Yeong-ho, a cold, unhappy man, whose demeanor puts a damper on the festivities. The seriousness of Yeong-ho's depression becomes apparent when he climbs a railroad bridge and looks like he might jump. At this crucial moment, memories of seven crucial episodes from Yeong-ho's past flood his mind.

Yeo-min is a matured and thoughtful 9 year old boy who lives in a small mountain village. Even at his young age, he has too many things to take care of. First, he has to protect his friends from the neighborhood bully Black Bird and keep peace in his neighborhood. Second, he must share his lunch with his best friend Ki-jong who lives alone with his sister. And, third, he has to sell ice cream bars after school to save enough money to buy a pair of sunglasses for his mother who injured her eye while working at a factory.

Na Du-Su stays two years in the third class in high school because of a car accident. Mi-Ra becomes a college student and meets Won-Seok. Du-Su often meets Lee Sang-Eun and receives the spirit of music from her. However, Du-Su chases after Mi-Ra continuously, and Won-Seok is getting close to Mi-Ra. Du-Su composes a song, which describes the pain of love. Lee Sang-Eun sings Tamdadi that is composed by Du-Su and becomes a famous singer with this song. Du-Su studies hard and passes the entrance examination. After that, it turns out that the relationship of Mi-Ra and Won-Seok is invented by Kyu-Shik in order to stimulate him to study hard. Owing to his help, Du-Su succeeds in passing the entrance examination and gaining the love. On the other hand, Lee Sang-Eun is looking for another man...
