A group of guys face the problems of daily life in a shared house

The story of Manolo, an old-fashioned tobacconist who misses Franco's Spain and secretly loves fantasy films. His only son Miguel gets involved in drug traffic to get some quick money for his mother Carolina, who suffers from Alzheimer's. When Miguel is kidnapped by the drug dealers, Manolo and Carolina must go through the streets of the city, armed with a shotgun, looking for him. But Manolo has accidentally eaten an omelette stuffed with all kind of hallucinogenic drugs, so their quest will be a real trip.

Sira Quiroga is a young Spanish dressmaker engaged to a solid suitor when a suave typewriter salesman upends her life. Spain is being upended by a civil war and the new regime's growing alliances with Nazi Germany. Sira, smart, gutsy and resourceful with a Scarlett O'Hara-like ability to whip up designer duds on a moment's notice, Sira has spunk. Sira gains and loses a small fortune, is dumped by her cad of a lover in Morocco, runs guns to get the cash to start her life anew and becomes couturier to the Nazi wives stationed in Madrid. Urged on by her friend, the real-life British spy Rosalinda Fox, Sira, too, aids the British cause.

Max is a Jack Russell dog genetically modified for criminal purposes so he is able to talk. Running away from the criminals he's working for, he is wounded, then saved by detective-wannabe Alberto, who is fire and house-hunting. They end up staying with Alberto's sister-in-law Marta and her two children. Thanks to them all, Alberto finally manages to be a detective, and he and Max establish their detective agency: Sabuesos.
