The Week of the Madmen

The last part of the triptych dedicated to the outlaw Șaptecai and episode 6 of the Outlaws series. In the Week of Fools, Anghel's band exchanges Lady Ralu's dowry for arms for Tudor of Vladimiri's army, which they decide to join. Although captured by Mamoulos and savagely tortured by his men, Șaptecai escapes from the dungeon and goes on his way. With the help of Anița, the Răspopitul, Parpanghel and other fellow outlaws, Anghel finally sees his dream come true.

Forest of the Hanged

In 1916 as an officer in the Habsburg Army ethnic Romanian Apostol Bologa is torn between remaining loyal to the Habsburgs or deserting to the Romanian Army across enemy lines.

The Great Solitary

Nicolae (George Motoi), the intelectual descendant of Moromete family, former communist apparatchik in the 50s, becomes a horticultor due to a political error, and refuses to have any social life, even if he is unhappy with his inactivity. The death of his partner makes him respond to the overtures of his old comrades. Based on the eponymous novel by Marin Preda.

The Premiere

In the Free Theater (Teatrul Liber) of Bucharest, the actors and crew prepare a new show, with the play "Disguise" ("Travesti"). After the opening night, which is only partly successful, they reach the conclusion that, along the years, they came to the mistake of also disguising this true feelings, becoming hypocrites, and this has a negative effect to their stage performances too.

The Outlaws

First of 2 films set during the 18th century in the mountains of Wallachia, about a band of outlaws aiming to undermine the rule of the Phanariots and the Ottomans. The story evolves around the two stepbrothers who lead this band, Sarbu and Amza, with their complex and violent relationship.

Penelope's Condition

A reinterpretation of the Greek legend of Penelope, ”the most faithful of wives”, who waited 20 years for her husband Odysseus to return from The Trojan War. In this animation, the two of them are presented in a more modern setting. While Odysseus is busy exploring the universe in his space rocket, Penelope is stuck at home, taking care of the children, showing how traditional gender roles say men should work, while women stay at home.

Operation 'The Monster'

A group of five work colleagues leave for an expedition in the Danube Delta, without letting their wives know anything about it. Going fishing and hunting, the characters end up in the funniest and ridiculous situations.
