Abslan and Hamed, two cousins of very different character and lives, whose families have put an end to old quarrels, become rivals for the love of the young and beautiful half-breed Aixa.

In a country house of Galicia (Spain), Teresa and Fernando, beset by their economic situation, rent rooms to Mr. Morell and his niece Lina, who are looking for a quiet place to rest. Everything seems normal but, at night, when the doors of the rooms are closed, it seems as if uncle and niece apparently practice spiritualism.

Spain, late 19th century. Judge Javier Zarco finds in a cemetery a skull pierced by a nail and suspects that a murder has been committed.

Since childhood, Luisa and Miguel have always been good friends; but several years later, as adults, when Spain faces the abyss of the Civil War (1936-1939), they support ideologically opposed camps.

Mariquilla lives with his uncle in the village of Las Canteras, where she is beloved for his grace and cheerful nature. Her uncle wants her to debut in the theater, but her nervousness and shyness make her performance not a success.

Once the Spanish Civil War is over, the sons of the wealthy classes, who support politically and militarily the new regime, are preparing to begin their ascent in the social and economic sphere.

Malvaloca is a good girl who goes wrong until she finds a good man that really loves her, yet her past marks her life.
