Condemned to live in scarcity behind a colossal wall that divides Gabhán City in two, Alba is part of a network that distributes medicines and water to the most needy in a clandestine hospital. Her godmother, Lucre, seeks to save her by risking her life in a covert traffic of illegal people to the other side of the wall. Alba refuses to leave her people and the hospital, so Lucre is forced to lie to her in order to convince her and thus embark her on a journey across the border that changes her life forever.

Margarita has a tumor in the base of the brain that made her blind, although the doctors assure that with an operation the girl could recover her sight. Blanca, her mother, will do anything she can to gather the money for the operation even put in risk the security of her community.

After her sister goes missing, Sarita, a working-class girl from Guatemala City, travels to the seaside town of Puerto Barrios to infiltrate a group of young gang members. As she risks her life to join the gang, Sarita becomes involved with her sister’s dangerous ex-boyfriend and gets closer to learning what happened to her sister.
