Shipwreck survivors found on the presumably uninhabited Infant Island leads to a scientific expedition that discovers a surviving native population along with the Shobijin, tiny twin fairy priestesses of the island's mythical deity called Mothra. After the fairies are kidnapped by an exploitative businessman named Clark Nelson, Mothra sets out to rescue them.

A former soldier is caught working the black market and sent to prison while his partner escapes and goes on to become a gangster, but their paths cross again as they both fall in love with the same woman.

Astronomer Shinichi Tachibana has a secret identity as the superhero "Iron Sharp" and is well beloved by children. This is the first film in the third installment of the adventure film for boys that depicts the battle between a thief who calls himself "the secret envoy of the Demon Lord" and private investigator Hideo Sayama. In the Toei, the roles are twenty faces and Kogo (Twenty Faces) and Akechi Kogo, with a content that seems to be strongly conscious of the "boys' Detectives" series of Edogawa Rampo, which was later made into a movie.
