The hobby detectives “The Three Investigators” want to take a little break. So they take advantage of an offer from Peter's father, who has accepted a job in South Africa and wants to take the detectives there. But Jupiter, Peter and Bob wouldn't be the three investigators marks feared by the criminal world if they just lounged around in the sun on their vacation. So it's no wonder that the clever boys soon have their next case to solve...

Rock musician Benji leads a charmed life until the day the evil Maestro steals his shadow in order to take possession of Benji's musical talent. With Globi's help, Benji and his musical partner Lucinda set out to regain their stolen shadows. Will the three of them be able to conquer the evil Maestro and save Benji's life?

It was Peter's idea to invite his friends on a joyride on Justus' birthday of all days. In pouring rain, a car breakdown forces the three detectives to seek refuge at the creepy "Blackstone" castle. When lightning knocks out the power line, the three investigators are stuck for good. It soon becomes clear to the three junior detectives that the lord of the castle, Count Gallagher, is a real chess fanatic. But not only that - the old castle makes a spooky impression and then there is Moe, the count's sinister servant. What is it about the chess pieces on the dilapidated, centuries-old chess table that seem to move by themselves, move after move, as if by magic? Is the old building really haunted? The first detective is immediately hooked and senses a new case, only Peter wants to run away. It soon becomes clear to the three investigators that this is about much more than just a game of chess...

Inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe story "The Tell-Tale Heart," this is the story of Ed, a middle-aged nervous-laughing insane man who lives in his family manor, and of his plans to murder his elderly demented father and dispose of the corpse.

When "The Three Investigators" Justus Jonas, Peter Shaw and Bob Andrews are forced to make an emergency landing on a rocky plateau during a hot air balloon tour, they have no idea that a new mystery awaits them in this wasteland. They end up in a mysterious institute where the musicians of an orchestra can create the illusion of colours, smells and tastes in the listeners with sounds. The fact that this miraculous world has its dark side becomes apparent at the latest when the three detectives meet Chloe, who has secretly sneaked into the institute to look for her missing sister. Chloe suspects that the mysterious orchestra leader Yamada is holding her sister Fran against her will and wants to use her for dark machinations. Together with Chloe, "The Three Investigators" set out to find Fran and discover the dark secret behind Yamada's vow of revenge: his symphony Phonophobia becomes one of the greatest dangers "The Three Investigators" have ever had to face...

Ein Fall für zwei is a German television series, which premiered on September 11, 1981 on ZDF. The series, located in Frankfurt am Main, features two main characters who solve crimes: a defense attorney and a private investigator. Josef Matula, a former German police officer, has gone into private business. His method of investigation is very effective and direct, and he sometimes even resorts to dirty tricks. Claus Theo Gärtner has portrayed the role since the start of the series.
