The Mask of Lopez

Attracted to ranch owner Doris Hampton, Jack O'Neil impersonates convict "Angel Face" Harry, who is to be released from prison (a reform measure) to work on Doris' ranch. Jack discovers that Doris' cattle are being stolen by her foreman, Steve Gore, finds Gore's hiding place, and keeps him at bay until Doris rides up at the critical moment with help.

Just as he is about to experiment with an elixir of youth, Prof. Henry Baldwin is kidnapped by Courtney Lawson with his secretary, Egbert Swift, and his butler, Alexander, and placed in an asylum. A runaway dogcart deposits three babies in the house, and three escaped chimpanzees take their place.

Tanner, aided and/or hampered by a mystery girl, Doris Leslie, and a hefty stenographer from the paper, Winnie Nash, and her even-huskier boyfriend, Bill Schultz, sets out to gather proof.

The historical landmarks of old San Francisco are present: The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Building, City Hall and the Pickwick Hotel-- but they don't distract from the dramatic and emotional perforamces at the film's center.

Because he believes she is David's mother, he kills Fielding. Fielding's faithful secretary, Li Clung, takes the boy to San Francisco to be raised by his grandfather. As an adult, David (also played by Gilbert) fights against opium trafficking with Li Clung's help.

The Man Who Came Back

Henry Potter is the irresponsible playboy son of a New York millionaire. Fearing he will disgrace the family name if he stays in New York, the father sends him to San Francisco to work in the family shipyards and, to make a man out of him, he is told he will have to start at the bottom and work his way up. Henry decides this is not a good idea and resents it to the point he will indeed start at the bottom but will work his way down from there, and disgrace the family name in San Francisco.

Lightning Romance

Jack Wade is the son of a wealthy father who runs a successful ship-building company. He uses his athletic prowess to defeat the villainous competitors who are out to financially ruin his father.

The West~Bound Limited

The plot, old-hat though it is, does provide an opportunity for that wonderfully seedy villain, David Dirby, to do his dirty work and more importantly, to tie all the thrillingly on-the-spot railroad footage together. Railroad buffs will enjoy all the atmospheric detail director Johnson has obtained by filming in real freight yards and inside and alongside real steam engines and rolling stock.

Burning Bridges

Bob and Jim Whitely are twin brothers. Bob, an army veteran who suffered shell shock in the war, escapes from a sanitarium and holds up the Express train, for which Jim is mistakenly arrested. Jim soon escapes from jail in order to find his brother. However, his task is complicated by a crooked sheriff who pins a holdup and murder on him that the sheriff himself actually committed. To make matters worse, the murder victim was Tommy Wilkins, the brother of Jim's fiancee, who now thinks that Jim killed her brother.

The White Lie

Gordon Kingsley lives happily with his wife Dorothy and little daughter Mary Jane. On visiting the home of San Francisco architect Frank Mason, he is shocked to discover a portrait of his own wife and daughter. Suspecting the worst of Dorothy, he hires a private detective....
